Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager
During the upgrade from 10.04 to 10.10 release , I have received a error dialog box stating the following: "Invalid package information After your package information was updated the essential package 'ubuntu-minimal' can not be found anymore. This indicates a serious error, please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade/ in the bug report." And the system restored to old state(10.04). ##Ubuntu current version Description: Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS Release: 10.04 ##update-manager package information update-manager: Installed: 1:0.134.10 Candidate: 1:0.134.10 Version table: *** 1:0.134.10 0 500 http://ubuntu.pesat.net.id/archive/ lucid-updates/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 1:0.134.7 0 500 http://ubuntu.pesat.net.id/archive/ lucid/main Packages ** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Upgrade fails with an error "Invalid package information" during the upgrade from 10.04 to 10.10 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/658177 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
