Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client
I just opened the Ubuntu One preferences and tried to create a new SSO. I'd forgotten I already had an account with that email address. The account creation process failed (not unreasonably) and I was presented with the account creation dialogue with a red exclamation mark next to both email addresses but no explanation was displayed as to the reason for the rejection. I was left looking at a screen with no way forward until it occurred to me to try the using the email address at the login prompt then pressing the forgotten password link. I realise there is a security issue here and it's not a good idea to reveal that an account exists but anyone who knew the platform would know that a rejection of the email address without explanation was caused by an already existing account so I think a meaningful error message would be a good idea here. Thanks. ** Affects: ubuntuone-client (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Ubuntu One - SSO signup doesn't give meaningful error for existing accounts https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/659379 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
