I do the ppa-purge ppa:diwic/maverick adn upgrade to packages from proposed and hear noise again! So packages from maverick didn't fix the bug for me, but from the diwic ppa fix! My audio device is: 00:14.2 Audio device: ATI Technologies Inc SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA)
