Problem recurs on another machine: ASUS m4a78t, Ubuntu 10.10 desktop with in-place upgrade from 10.04 --> 10.10. Myth desktop frontend role with remote backend (the previously mentioned machine) via Mythbuntu Control Centre, also upgraded in place; using nVidia current driver. After the upgrade I completely removed / re-installed Mythbuntu but the problem still occurred.
The two machines are similar: ASUS m3n78em and Asus m4a78t, both running the current nVidia driver. Using mythfrontend 0.23.1+fixes26437. Watch TV crashes out x-session and returns to login prompt if CPU+ video mode is selected. Functions normally with VDPAU. This probably is the same bug as originally reported.
