Ok just tested with 2.6.36-999 and the problem exists. I'll need to get you those logs as you requested though.
In the meantime i have noticed one more problem. The built in dual microphone system works with gnome-sound-recorder but does not work in other applications e.g. skype. In Sound Preferences, the input level should fluctuate when speaking but it doesn't. I tried adding some options to alsa-base.conf you know the 'snd-hda- intel model= ' kind of options that are relevant to the ALC269 chipset. Each of them exposed different options in the Input section but none worked to fix it. Not sure what I can test there for you.
