Further observations: - my HP PSC 2355 printer could not read the SD card either (error message on the printer screen) - my computer has been able to mount and normally read / write on the card before.
I had borrowed the card from friends and i've given it back now so i won't be able to test it further. @Jean-Louis: you might want to format the card with your camera and see if the problem persists.
