I used to be able to make rhythmbox really exit on close by diabling the status
icon plugin. Since the Maverick update, disabling the
status icon plugin does absolutely nothing to detach rhythmbox from the volumn
control. I'm hoping there's a new hidden
and counterintuitive option to do this, or heaven forbid an obvious one, but I
haven't found one through the ui or gconf-editor.

Desired behavior:
- an option so that close really closes (lack is enraging)
- an option to completely get rid of the enormous rhythmbox icon from my volume
control (lack is annoying)

I don't care if these are done by one option as they used to be, or separate
behavior as most people would prefer, or
even if they are the default behavior as they were a few versions ago. I just
need to be able to do it, and I need it to keep
working so I don't have this headache the next version update. Obscure and
annoying is one thing; obscure, anoying, and
inconsistent is infinitely worse.

As it is, I've temporarily added a new bindkey to a script that does a kill -9
on rhythmbox (minor overkill, but then I do
that when I'm pissed at a UI) instead of being able to close it like EVERY
OTHER APPLICATION by closing the window.
It was either that or find a new music player or recompile from source code.
