Oops. I should really have checked my instructions, rather than relying on memory. I was using synaptic package manager at the same time
Try these steps. 1) Start update-manager, and minimize it. 2) Start synaptic package manager, and minimize it 3) Click on update-manager's icon in the taskbar, update-manager will restore its window 4) Click on the "Check" button, a dialog box warning "There is another synaptic running in interactive mode. Please close it first" will be displayed 5) Close this dialog; synapic will be restored. 6) Close synaptic 7) Minimize the update-manager again. 8) Run a second instance of update-manager Hopefully, the first instance won't be restored. -- update-manager: does not deiconify when second instance is started https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/662125 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
