I don't really know anything about how the usb/hotplugging works in ubuntu/feisty but I have upgraded my Edgy installation on my Lenovo 3000 N100 to Feisty and USB devices including hot plugging of Mass Storage Devices seem to work fine, and on a related note, the libmtp an gnomad2 packages in the Feisty repositry are now good enough so that I can sync (via USB) with MTP -based Creative ZEN Vision:M without any compiling.
So it sounds lik it might be a problem specific to your hardware (or some config prob), I'm sure the people who know more about the USB/hotplugging software will be able to resolve, but they'll probably want to know more about your USB hardware, perhaps the device manager (System -> Preferences -> Hardware Information) might be of some help. -- Hotplugging of USB devices not working in Feisty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/102808 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
