Yes, I also can confirm suspend and wakeup works with that 2.6.36-custom kernel.
But on the other hand with that kernel, brightness control for the display 
doesn't work anymore.

(With 2.6.32, it works with the samsung-tools and samsung backlight
packages as proposed there:
