With the upgrade to Maverick I had the more or less the same problem again and it is a hardware problem in that sense that the VFD screen is not configured properly. When I configure it right the errors are gone. Thought that is not what I was reporting here, I was reporting that my syslog got blown up by every time exactly the same messages. But maybe it is more an LCDproc bug than lirc?
