forgive me ... i am a little bit wrong here. after upgrading from 10.04 to 10.10 i had these mixer problems so i tried to downgrade back to 10.04. but i make many mistakes.
since i am "new" to linux and not beeing very familar with it in detail, i decided to try out debian which uses kernel 2.6.26-X-686 and found same mixer problems there. my idea was that my modprobe idea could also be helpful on kernel shipped with ubuntu, even if i didn't install ubuntu again to test it. elsewhere i can read that ubuntu developers removed different sound- things from current kernel. many users had tears in their eyes as i can see from results in search engines. -- After upgrading to Ub 10.10, no /dev/mixer! https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/637339 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
