RELEASE Ubuntu 10.10 i386
MEDIA USB 4Gb installed without persistence
PC Dell dimension 5000

The installation began perfect, and was it was close to the end a window
with the text "The installer has failed.....report this in launchpad and
attach partman and syslog".

The "extrange" thing was the system remained running, and from the HD, not
from the USB (I removed it to be completely sure), and everything seemed
normal. I was using Firefox and it worked perfectly. Under the SYSTEM =>
ADMINISTRATION Menu a new item called "Release" appeared. If selected it
tried to reinstall from scratch

After that, I have burned a CD and installed it with the options :
nomodeset, acpi=off, noacpi, nolacpi and everything perfect. Probably those
options have nothing to do with the problem, but ....just in case.

Let me know if I can provide any more relevat info.

Antonio
