Public bug reported: Recently, I have change my mouse setting to be 'left-hand mouse' in Gnome (Ubuntu 10.4.1 LTS). After that my family found they cannot switch user using "switch user" button if I was the person who had locked the screen. I investigated situation a bit further and found that I had to click right mouse button rather than left (standard one) to initiate any action.
This is ridiculous, because you cannot expect people to know (and remember) mouse settings of all other user having account on that computer. On the other hand, on the 'lock screen' one button is enough, so the best resolution will be threat all buttons as 'main' one (or at least do not differentiate the left and right one). ** Affects: meta-gnome2 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: gdm gnome hand left lock mouse multiuser screen settings ** Package changed: linux (Ubuntu) => meta-gnome2 (Ubuntu) -- Buttons in gnome/gdm left-handed user 'lock screen' react only for left mouse button https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/669730 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
