** Description changed: Battery icon in new ubuntu indicators does not honour gconf setting "/apps/gnome-power-manager/general/use_time_for_policy". My netbook battery lasts about 8hrs in normal use, so, even with low charge percentage I have plenty of working time left. However, the battery icon switches to "low" icon (black frame with red bar) when I still have about 1:50 hrs time left. I would not consider 1:50 hrs left a low battery status, but this "red" bar sitting there in the corner makes me constantly worried about battery charge left, it is very distracting. To remedy this, battery icon indicator should honour the above gconf setting and switch to "low" display only when the time configured for power-manager in gconf is reached (1200 sec by default). This way it would go red only when left working time "really" is low (20 min). regards sven + --- + Architecture: i386 + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 + EcryptfsInUse: Yes + InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat" - Release i386 (20101007) + Package: gnome-settings-daemon 2.32.0-0ubuntu3 + PackageArchitecture: i386 + ProcEnviron: + LANG=de_DE.utf8 + SHELL=/bin/bash + ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-23.36-generic 2.6.35.7 + Tags: maverick + Uname: Linux 2.6.35-23-generic i686 + UserGroups: adm admin cdrom dialout lpadmin mythtv plugdev sambashare ** Attachment added: "Dependencies.txt" https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/bugs/670771/+attachment/1723442/+files/Dependencies.txt -- battery indicator icon ignores gconf setting "/apps/gnome-power-manager/general/use_time_for_policy" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/670771 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
