Thanks maik for the workaround. I had the same problem, and deleting
~/.pulse also "solved" it.

However, I would not consider this bug fixed before identifying *what*
broke the ~/.pulse directory and *how* (so that it does not happen
again...).

I kept a copy of my "buggy" ~/.pulse directory.

to pulseaudio devs: is there any private information in those file, or
is it safe for me to post them here? (if it can be any help, of
course...)
