sorry for the bump, but this problem still exists.
it should be pretty easy to fix by adding the appropriate packages to the 
dependencies or just make a virtual package sound-juicer-mp3. I don't know how 
how to most elegantly handle this.

the point is: i remember that every time i install sound juicer i try to
activate the mp3 profile and when that fail i install lame (stupid me)
just to find that that is not enough. then i hit google and find that
the solution is pretty easy.

so it would be great if this could somehow be automated.
with mavericks new checkbox at install time to use restricted formats like mp3 
one could perhaps depend on that and always just install mp3 support by default 
if the user has chosen to use it.
