Binary package hint: indicator-datetime

Today, time changed from North American Eastern Daylight Time to Eastern
Standard Time.  I assumed that Ubuntu would change my clock
automatically since every other electronic device I own does so.

See attached picture.

Do I need to be synced with time servers for the DST adjustment?  I
don't think that should be a requirement.
