You will most likely need the nvidia binary drivers to get the resolution expected. You can achieve graphically by going so "System > Administration > Additional Drivers". If you really cannot use the graphical interface at all, there is another way- boot while pressing shift, then select recovery menu. Once there, you can drop to a netroot shell and run "jockey-text" to detect hardware and have it propose a driver. You may also want to update your system at this point. In the recovery menu, you can issue the command reboot, or press ctrl-d to return to the menu.
If installing the binary driver with jockey does not resolve the issue, please run the following command to grab bug info from this machine: $ apport-bug --save /home//username/report.bug xorg ** Package changed: ubuntu => xorg (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- hp touchsmart 600-1010br no video https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/660331 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
