Regarding the wireless switch on the laptop - it is active (blue light) and if I right-click the network manager icon, it says wireless network 'not connected' (something like that - i'm running the danish version) - but if I touch the laptop wireless switch, it turns red and the right-click on network manager icon, says 'deactivated' for the wireless network. I have no knowledge of a keyboard shortcut switch.
