Public bug reported: On my ASUS eeepc 904HA, when I don't use the touchpad at all everything works fine (I use an external USB mouse).
If I use the touchpad - after some movements - the cursor starts to skip out of control, showing contextual menus, creating folders on the desktop and so on... then sometimes a single keyboard key pressure produces many characters, like thhhhhhhhhis (I'm not sure the two thinngs can be related, since the touchpad issue is nearly systematically reproducible, while the keyboard not). Besides that, the external usb mouse still continues to move properly, BUT the pointer is in a somewhat inconsistent state, since sometimes it remains similar to a pipe (like when it's over a text field) even if I try to click on the window titlle bar, hence I can't use the mouse anymore to change focus between windows... uname -a Linux eee-davide 2.6.35-23-generic #37-Ubuntu SMP Fri Nov 5 19:17:11 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux cat /etc/issue.net Ubuntu 10.10 Also note the output of dmesg|grep mouse [ 0.733334] mice: PS/2 mouse device common for all mice [ 169.793240] psmouse serio1: ID: 10 00 64 [ 929.160048] psmouse.c: Touchpad at isa0060/serio1/input0 lost synchronization, throwing 5 bytes away.
