Thanks for pointing this out. One work-around for this issue was added to the omap4 kernel (see http://kernel.ubuntu.com/git?p=ubuntu/ubuntu- maverick.git;a=commit;h=10f38b455e75b85f72e98786e5518cf7b0324634).
So you can force a MAC address at boot-time by adding the smsc95xx.macaddr=xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx parameter to the kernel command line. However, it does not prevent from using your patch that offers a smarter (and as you say more accepted) solution. -- Pandaboard chooses a new IP address on each boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/673504 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
