For my hardware bug I just tested it with a laptop with Ubuntu 10.04 - no hang, all works fine. On a different computer with Ubuntu 10.10 (and nvidia driver) it is enough to just plug in the receiver (even with keyboard and mouse batteries removed) to get the left click on all other mice stop working. So here we have a reproducible regression.
