After using Unity essentially problem-free for three days (I did have to update to current NVidia driver) I am getting this blank screen with movable cursor also.
I am testing/using Unity (from ppa) on a desktop install of 10.10 with Nvidia-current drivers. CPU: AMD Athlon-64 3000+ Graphics: Nvidia 7600 GT 00:09.0 PCI bridge: nVidia Corporation CK804 PCI Bridge (rev a2) 00:18.0 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] K8 [Athlon64/Opteron] HyperTransport Technology Configuration 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation G73 [GeForce 7600 GT] (rev a1) Given that Unity is set to become the main GUI in 11.04, surely Canonical don't expect everyone to have one graphics processor from that narrow list of graphics hardware. BTW, I mentioned this in another bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/595723 but I think this one more accurately describes the problem. -- [ATI] Black screen with a cursor when changing Ubuntu 10.10 RC Desktop Edition to Netbook from login menu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/657419 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
