Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pavucontrol

In Ubuntu 10.04, I used pavucontrol to change the recording source to
"Monitor for Internal Audio" for Sound recorder to record the sounds
being played in Totem or VLC. I could see the output/input stream's
indicators showing that it was capturing the streams.

In Ubuntu 10.10 pavucontrol can't recognize those streams and show in
the output "bar/indicator", neither does the PulseAudio Volume Monitor.
Enabling Mute on pavucontrol still mutes the sound though.
