Public bug reported:

I have PowerDevil set to Suspend to RAM when the power button is pressed
in Performance mode. This is on a desktop PC which is always in
Performance mode. When I pressed the power button, the hard disk
started churning, but nothing happened on the screen. After 30-60
seconds, the system powered off--it did not enter suspend mode. When I
restarted and logged back in to KDE, the session had not been saved--KDE
hadn't been logged out, so of course it didn't save it. I'm glad I
didn't have any important data open and unsaved in any apps, because
they would have been terminated without being asked to save data.
