I experienced this on Maverick (10.10) after upgrading from Lucid (10.04). To fix, I did the following: 1) sudo aptitude purge cups-pdf 2) sudo aptitude install cups-pdf 3) Right click on printer -> Properties -> Policies -> check "Enabled". 4) Click "Apply".
