As I said "the files couldn't be found in the specified directory" to install
the program (not the exact wording but the sense).

installfailures

All the error reports said that the files couldn't be found in the specified
directory, which obviously varied with the program concerned. Affected
programs included open office. Everything seems to be working, including open
office so I presume that the programs concerned are still using the pre update
files.
The original install and update were with default directories, I didn't attempt
to change anything.

Any other info I can provide?

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. Do you recall what the error reports said? Thanks in advance.
