I too have this problem. In my case the problem occurs when the only load on the cpus is processing my keystrokes in a terminal.
Symptoms: (1) I am typing in a terminal and one key "sticks": so far I have seen sticking: "n" and "up arrow". It's as if Ubuntu stops processing keyboard (break?) scan codes. (2) gnome is then also "infected" (3) logging out does not resolve the problem (4) rebooting resolves the issue (5) It happens regularly about twice a day. Technical Information: * motherboard: ASUS P7P55D-E PRO.
