Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubuntu-desktop
If you want good features across a network with Windows and Linux, you have to install smb4k which comes with a lot of extra dependancies and memory load by using KDE...I would like a gnome GUI app for this. Right now, the Gnomevfs "Connect to server" in Nautilus is useless for this because it still only affects apps that use gnome vfs, and I cna count about 10 applications that still do NOT. (Firefox bookmarks import, Banshee, xine, mplayer, realplayer, azureus, etc....) Rhythmbox is one the few that uses vfs BUT it keeps crashing if I use it wiht gnomevfs. If I use a mounted samba folder the performance is great and no crashing. BTW all the ones like gnomba and linneighbourhood in the repositories don't work and are so old that they use gtk 1... ** Affects: ubuntu-meta (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- Gnome should have an smb4k type utility https://launchpad.net/bugs/55902 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
