When using filters I can get incoming and outgoing emails to the
appropriate folder automatically. However, Evolution insists on leaving
a copy in the 'Deleted Items' folder. When I 'expunge' the Deleted Items
folder all emails that have been deleted via a filter remain in the
Deleted Items folder.

As far as I can see what appears to be happening is:-

Initially an email is brought into the main Inbox or Sent folder, then
the filter applied, then the email moved to appropriate folder and
finally the original in Inbox or Sent 'deleted' by sending it to the
Deleted Items folder. this results in two copies on the system. One in
the filtered folder, one in the Deleted Items folder. This duplication
may be why it cannot be 'expunged'.

This is very messy and deserves more than a 'wish list' status. It is a
bug! (or is it a switch-able feature that I am not aware of!)
