Hi, I can confirm Rodrigo Alvarez' post #16 with Ubuntu 10.10 (32 bit) and a Brother DCP-165C. Printing works, but I could not get simple-scan, XSane or Scanlite to work from the Applications menu or from the terminal. Running simple-scan with sudo works like a charm, on the other hand.
