The same happens to me with the normal account, I think it might have started happening after I first used the guest account. Using gnome- panel 2.32.1 as well as compiz 0.9.2.1 with some custom settings.
After everything crashes I only see the menu (cardapio, 3rd party menu), the clock, and a launcher. Everything else doesn't seem to run, even if I click restart.
