The last time, the freeze occurred during a simple 'rsync' operation between two SATA devices - there was no concurrent action. After that I updated to the following upstream kernel:
Linux version 2.6.37-020637rc3-generic (r...@zinc) (gcc version 4.2.3 (Ubuntu 4.2.3-2ubuntu7)) #201011220905 SMP Mon Nov 22 09:08:55 UTC 2010 Using that upstream kernel, no freeze occurred any more, although I repeated the 'rsync' cirmumstances. As it is not reproducible, I would have to wait if it is really stable or if it just seems to be. ** Tags removed: needs-upstream-testing -- computer freeze on disc operation with very large files/amounts of blocks https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/654163 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
