Peter, this might be http://trac.yorba.org/ticket/2776, which has been fixed in the Shotwell trunk. Could you uninstall the flashplugin-installer package (i.e. Adobe Flash) to see if that makes the problem go away? If it does, then this is a bug which we've already fixed.
If this crash occurs even after Flash is uninstalled, then this is a problem we've haven't seen before. In that case, please follow the instructions in the Shotwell FAQ (http://trac.yorba.org/wiki/Shotwell/FAQ) to generate a backtrace and attach it to this bug report.
