IF the problem is caused by Linux trying to mount a software-RAID drive (as the solution points to) the question is still WHY?
I am operating from wetware memory here, so this MAY be incorrect. I started having this problem AFTER installing Ubuntu from the Live CD back in a v9.whatever, and have been doing download upgrades since. Could this problem be caused by doing the original Live CD install in the wrong sequence? What I remember doing is: 1- Boot to Live CD (first boot device) & Install 2- Installer requests reboot at end of run 3- Removed CD, rebooted 3- Booted to HD Should we reboot to the Live CD at Step-3 to complete the Ubuntu install? THEN select to boot to HD from CD menu. I am thinking that the Installer MAY be leaving a Linux entry on the HD to mount the software-RAID HD used during installation. -- On boot keeps trying to mount "UDEVD-WORK..../dev/null" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/575333 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
