@RĂ¼diger, I don't really understand it enough to explain it, but I understand the general gist of it. This bug is related to the way that the kernel keeps time. The way the kernel used to work (by default) was by ticking. The new way is tickless. nohz=on is tickless, nohz=off is tickful. I won't even try to explain it.
