Hi Adam! Thanks for your bug report. I have managed to track this down (hopefully correctly) to the medibuntu repository. They provide an app- install-data-medibuntu package which includes a desktop file for Google Earth. Presumably you have installed this package at some time in the past. This is why google earth is (correctly) listed in the software- center. Medibuntu does not however provide the google earth package for maverick. This is why software-center correctly mentions that the package is not available in your current software sources. So the conclusion here is that medibuntu is claiming to provide google-earth (by providing an app-install-data desktop file for it), but in reality is not providing the package (for maverick). I will add a task for medibuntu to this bug report, but it would seem that software-center isn't actually doing anything wrong here.
