if I set my language to German, Thunderbird uses a German user interface. But if I add the lightning extension from the package xul- ext-lightning the lightning menu items are all English. This problem has already been posted at http://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/lightning-auf-deutsch/ . The workaround is of course installing the extension manually as user (not as package).
