Binary package hint: vlc

it happenned almost  evry i time i play a movie on vlc.
The  playing starts correctly but after some times the 
the movies freezes to one frame. after some other time
the computer completely stucks , i can't even move the mouse.
 
Making some experiment , i noticed that when vlc has the problem, 
it start  to gain all the RAM and the swap memory. When it got all
the memory the system freezes and i have to reboot
I've seen the process in the System Monitor
