Thanks Fabio, for attending to this issue. I've been meaning to update this bug item.
Unfortunately, there's no indication that my upgrade to 10.10 or any subsequent patch has significantly change my memory usage pattern. With 8GB installed, I don't notice the problem as quickly. Also, I've had a couple of kernel updates recently that resulted in premature reboots so I never reached high water. My uptime since last reboot with current patches is four days. With all my applications shut down, I was showing 2GB of memory used. This is consistent with leaking circa 500MB/day. Short of turning my primary workstation into an experiment, I'm willing to pursue any reasonable diagnostic procedure no matter how technical, if anyone wishes to guide the endeavour. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/590566 Title: severe memory leak began in Karmic, persisting in Lucid -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
