I just added Adobe Acrobat Reader 9 to my Ubuntu Linux 10.10 system (via Ubuntu Software Center), then tried to open my own copy of the pdf file attached to this bug report, WITHOUT SUCCESS. This test strongly suggests that the PDF output from Open Office is guilty of not meeting the standard set by Adobe Acrobat, and that gMail concurs in that judgement.
Note that the Document Reader software that is part of the Ubuntu distribution (?) does not have a problem in reading my own copy of the attached PDF file, or any other PDF file generated by CUPS from Open Office that I had tried. By the way, is there a version of Document Reader available for Windows OS as a workaround? Note also that Adobe Acrobat 9 has no problem reading PDF files generated by Xsane, the scanner software in the brief test I just conducted. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/685072 Title: gMail thinks PDF file via CUPS from Open Office is damaged -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
