Public bug reported: I have used the 6.10 LiveCD on this machine just fine. The new 7.04beta LiveCD crashs during boot. I took the same disc (which was burned on the said laptop) and booted an older Dell T450 desktop just fine. In fact, I am using the Dell to write this report. That is one reason why I cannot at this moment provide much detail on the displayed errors! Anyway, there seems to be no problem with the disc. I believe X-windows was what crashed during boot up. I would have booted it, but I used my last CD-R and can't burn a second one for booting these two machines at the same time until I make a trip to town to buy some more discs. Changing the display from VGA did not help. FWIW, the laptop has an X1400 graphics card. I had also asked the disc to check itself on the third boot attempt, and it passed. The laptop boots and functions just fine under TableXP, so there is no evident hardware failure of any kind either. If you need more details, just ask. I hope to pick up some more discs in a couple days.
