The "cdrom-detect/try-usb=true" functionality differs on different USB drivers. On my Kingston DATATraveler 1 GB it does not work at all, but on a Dane Elec 4 GB device it hangs later in the process (Failed loading installer components from CD).
I'am trying this on an INTEL D510MO installing Ubuntu 10.10 server release.
