Just found that this affects me too on 10.10. lsusb shows my external My-Link DVD drive as the Genesys, just as others. I can mount it manually with 'udisks --mount /dev/sr0'. I am using an EeePc 901 (and the same happens on my Dell laptop 1557, 10.10). Thanks.
