Mark: No, I didn't disable the floppy, I'll try it a bit later today. I did boot without the quiet and splash options, but it scrolls damn fast during the boot so I can't really keep up with all those messages, and I don't know how to scroll back up once I'm in the initramfs prompt. I did even boot with the debug kernel option but the debug log didn't help me too much. Is there a way to get all those boot messages to a file available from the initramfs?
