For those, who cannot wait for this bug being solved, below comes the
monitor section for xorg.conf which worked perfectly on my configuration
(Laptop +external monitor connected via VGA cable):

Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Samsung"
Option "IgnoreEDID" "True"
Option "RightOf" "Configured Monitor"
modeline "1920x1200-60" 154.128 1920 1968 2000 2080 1200 1203 1209 1235 +hsync
-vsync
Option "PreferredMode" "1920x1200-60"
Option "dpms"
Gamma 1.0
EndSection

However this does mean that in future versions of Ubuntu we will have
the same problem until someone smart enough will fix this bug with wrong
EDID.
