pps files play with music in 10.04 using kernel 2.6.32-26 and OpenOffice.org 3.2.0
After upgrading from 10.04 to 10.10 with kernel 2.6.35-22 ALL sound was racing and fragmented. A bug was lodged and Daniel Chen advised to download the nightly snapshot of the alsa-driver relevant to that kernel. That fixed the sound - except for the login sounds. With the release of kernel 2.6.35-23, sound was again racing and fragmented until an alsa-driver update was released for that kernel. The login sound works intermittently now, the opening drums do not. OOo is version 3.2.1 build 9505. pps files play but no sound.
