Same issue on a Samsung X20. I tagged this bug as regression, since before Lucid everything worked fine. The following bug seems to be related (as mentioned above): https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/549727 The comments there suggest that the issue is due to the interaction between gnome-settings-daemon and the synaptics driver.
So it is not clear if the bug is appropriately assigned to the synaptics driver. Anything we could do to get more attention? Should we deliver more information? Open a bug-report upstream?
