Sorry that the first line wasn't clear. 1. I meant that sound does not work in TvTime, Amarok and SMplayer among a few others. 2. I cannot start the kmix mixer applet 3. However, sound works in KMplayer. KMplayer also gives multiple options for sound output which allowed for the testing and results under different options
It may be pertinent here: Under Settings -> System Settings -> Multimedia -> Phonon -> Audio output -> Music: Everything other than Jack Audio Connection Kit is greyed out (This device is currently not available (either it is disconnected or the drivers are not loaded)) which makes no sense as KMplayer is able to play everything using the same devices. I have selected ALSA using "$dpkg-reconfigure linux-sound-base" but even other settings (OSS and default) give the same results. ** Attachment added: "alsa-info.txt.hGFjvMXFLR" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/692001/+attachment/1770093/+files/alsa-info.txt.hGFjvMXFLR -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/692001 Title: Kmix, TvTime, Amarok, SMplayer - No sound -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
